April - Round 3 - The Groms Have FUN !!!
And aint that what its all about. After a week of
blistering barrels Snapper got smaller and onshore, but
the Groms did not complain. The day was too good. It was
a perfect day at the beach....

to claim the 2008 Rip Curl Women’s
Pro in classic 4-6 ft (2m) surf at Bells Beach today.

- Round 2 & Game On !!
Round no 2 took place this
weekend in great waves
On The Rocks and there were many
new faces in the winners circle.
The freshest faces of all, being in the micro division
6&Under
with Jay Occhilupo taking out the boys and Summer
Longbottom the girls. With such experienced
personalised water patrol minders, they are in good
hands.
And so the cycle continues........

2008 10th Feb
- Parko Goes The Figure 8 !!!!
Joel Parkinson won an historical 8th SRSC
Open Club Championship at DBah. Parko’s decade of dominance of SRSC
began with his first win way back in 1998, with
Shane Bevan (1999) and Will Lewis (2005) the only
other surfers to etch their names upon the perpetual
trophy in the last 10 yrs.

Today Luke Dorrington won the 1st
round of the
QCC for 08, The Alley Classic. Joining him, and making
it 3 out of the 4 finalists SRSC members, were Sean
Gossman
& John "Bearsy" Cummings.

Jrn round for the year was held in 3 foot uneven, but
contestable waves.

- SRSC Win Qld Jim Beam Tag ..
In an exciting display of action, SRSC
took out the QLD leg
of the Jim Beam Tag Team and doing so lead the QLD teams
to the National Finals. If you havent witnessed
such an event
I can only say you get down to the beach the next time
the SRSC
team hit the water, as theres allways some great
sporting moments

- SRSC Presentation
Winners were grinners when the end of year
presentation
was held at Rainbow Bay Surf Club in front of the SRSC
Family, which included Past and Present World Champions,
and a huge depth of surfing talent that is still a work
in progress.
Boys & Girls, Groms & Micro Groms stood proud and were
the shining example of what a pure inspiration Steph has
been this year on the sport of surfing the world over.
