Aug 2007 25th - Malibu Teams Challenge - SRSC Wins !!!
Today was a
historical day. A new ASP ruling was passed recently
allowing WCT competitors to surf for their clubs , Occy
& Dean Morrison indeed, did just that.
Being more than 4 years since Deano last surfed in Teams
events for SRSC, as the last & nominated power surfer,
he had the task to get the win, but it was going to be
no easy task. He had to get at least two 9's to
send in the victory.
With the Super Bank Maxing out , and a very long run
back to the lineup, by the time the hooter sounded,
Deano had accumulated MEGA points including a "Perfect
10", with his backup wave being in the high 9's,
making him the highest heat scorer of the day.

While the action
was hot in the water, Rab kept the groms entertained
with a good old fashion game of Aussie Cricket.

Meanwhile, over at
Snapper across the weekend, were other crew paying their
respects at the Coolie Kids Memorial.
Parko and Occy took 1st and 2nd, with Paul Ward grabbing
4th.
Steph also won, and regular SRSC tag team members, Damon
and JS, used their theme song to the fullest, surfed
hard and came out on top. Special mention goes to the
pair of Whales hamming it up and doing duets out the
back.

July 2007 22nd - 6th Jrn Club Round
The number of mind blowing waves ridden was just
incredible. Sunday certainly showed that SRSC is in good
form with its Jrn development program, and way on
track..
In a surfers life, many waves are ridden, but just a
very few of them will be etched in that surfers memory
forever. Tom Parkinson got one of those waves.
After getting a couple of barrels down the line,
everyone looked elsewhere when a section at Little
Marley, looked too fast & swallowed him up.
Seconds later though, he came flying out to cheers of
"10 points" from everyone who saw, which was just about
everyone.
That was just one story of many from the day.
